Q- What programs does Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University Offer?

The Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University offers the following Academic programs:

Q- Are the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University Programs Accredited by the Ministry of higher education and scientific Research ?

Q- Can an applicant who has been granted admission defer that admission?

Yes. Learners may defer their admission for a maximum of two semesters by filling an Admission Postponement Form and returning to the Office of Admission and Registration.

Q- How do I apply for financial aid?

In order to apply for financial aid, learners must fill the Financial Aid Application and return it to the LRM Office four weeks prior to the starting date of the registration period. For further information on financial aid.

Q- Is academic advising available to learners?

Yes. Upon admission to a program each learner is assigned an e-advisor who will follow him/her across their journey at the University. Learners shall consult with their e-advisors prior to enrolling in courses and can refer to them any questions or concerns they may have.

Q- How do I contact my e-Advisor?

The e-Advisors can be contacted by either email or chat or through the click to talk option available from within the Online Admission and Registration Application; or visited dairy office hours or by appointment.

Q- How can I change my personal profile?

Learners may change their personal profile through the Online Admission and Registration Application.

Q- How can I check my grades?

Learners may check their grades and print unofficial transcripts via the Online Admission and Registration Application.

Q- How does the learning take place?

  1. The Bachelor Programs
    The BA program follows a blended learning approach, where the first year is completely physical, during the year the learner is exposed to general education courses which include several English related courses and some business foundation courses, during the 2nd year the classes are physical but online support is available. Year 3 and 4 are blended which means they contain a very small percentage of physical attendance, but later percentage of e-learning and self learning.

  2. The Master Programs
    The graduate programs follow a blended learning approach which combines face to face learning, self learning and online learning (synchronous and synchronous), the physical presence is kept to a minimum, usually equivalent to 1-2 sessions per semester for each course taken, the remaining is online through pre-set virtual class rooms or the use of other communication tools such as discussion forums, emails and chat or self paced learning via the use of the various learning materials such as: Web based courses, study books, text books and some times pre-recorded sessions or DVDs .

Q- When are the classes scheduled?

All Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University classes are in the evening to accommodate working people. The BA programs courses usually starts at 15:00 up to 21:00 while the MSC classes usually starts from 19:00 to 22:00. However and in particular for the BA programs the University may consider having morning classes if a sufficient number to open a morning section is available.

Q- What are the admission requirements for the programs?

  1. The BA in Business and Quality Management.
    • A high school score of 70% from a Scientific or literary discipline or a 75% from industrial discipline or its equivalent as approved by the Ministry of Education and an official high school / secondary school transcript (academic record) in the original covering the last three years and reflecting a good academic standard.Other high school certificates recognized includes:The National General Secondary School certificates, the American-style High School Diploma, the International Baccalaureate, the Lebanese and French Baccalaureate, the Pakistani and Indian Board(s) certificates, the Iranian Certificate, the German Abitur, the IGCSE, the GCSE and the GCE.
    • TOFEL score of 500 or a 5.0 IELTS score (valid only for two calendar years)
    • An interview might be required with an admission advisor

  2. The M. Sc. in Organizational Excellence & M. Sc. in Innovation & Change Management
    • An accredited Bachelor degree in business or management or any other discipline, in the case where the bachelor is not in business or management a short Management Appreciation Program will be taken as an intensive course one month prior to the start of the semester to equip learners with the necessary knowledge to proceed with their studies
    • TOFEL score of 550 or a 6.0 IELTS score (valid only for two calendar years)
    • An interview might be required with an admission advisor

  3. The MS in The Masters of Science in Public Health: Excellence in Health Care Management .
    • An accredited Bachelor degree in business or management or any other discipline, in the case where the bachelor is not in business or management a short Management Appreciation Program will be taken as an intensive course one month prior to the start of the semester to equip learners with the necessary knowledge to proceed with their studies

Q- What if I do not meet the admission requirements (<70% or <3.00)?

Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University may accept learners with a high school score ranging from 60-69% or a bachelor AGPA ranging from 2.5-2.99. Application will be considered on a case by case basis and if accepted applicant will be under probation for two semester if he/she study in one of Undergraduate program and  one semester if he/she study  in one of the graduate program  .

Q-What papers/documents are required?

  1. For Undergraduate Studies (BA)
    • A completely filled Admission Application Secondary School Certificate: An official secondary school certificate certified by appropriate authorities.
    • Grade Reports: Official grade reports from the last three secondary school years certified by the appropriate authorities.
    • University Official Transcripts: This requirement applies only to transferring applicants who want to apply for transfer of previously earned credits. Please refer to the University policies on transfer of previously earned credits.
    • TOEFL or IELTS score
    • Photographs: Four recent passport size photographs, with applicant’s name written on the back of each one.
    • Photocopy of Birth Certificate.
    • Photocopy of the applicant’s passport.
    • A 3000 DHS non-refundable admission fee.

  2. For graduate Studies (M. Sc)
    • Admission Application
    • A copy of applicant’s passport.
    • Four recent passport size photographs, with applicant’s name written on the back of each one.
    • Certified Copies of all university/University, and other post-secondary degrees and diplomas awarded. Applicants should obtain attestation from the Ministry of Higher Education of the country in which the undergraduate degree was granted and equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
    • Official sealed transcripts of credits earned from all institutions of higher education previously attended
    • Two reference letters from present or former professors and/or employers. Please use the University's Reference Letter Form.
    • A 3000 DHS non-refundable admission fee.
    • Proof of English Proficiency (As required in the Admission Requirements).

Q- Do you accept transfer of credits?

Yes, however to apply for transfer, you need to fill a Transfer of Credits Request Form which is available on the University website [Admissions & Registration| Forms| Transfer of Credits Request Form ] and submit the course syllabi of the courses to be transferred at the time of admission.Only courses which match the courses offered at the University and with a grade of ‘B’ for graduate studies and ‘C’ of undergraduate studies and which has been taken within the past 3.5 years will be transferred. Courses shall be taken at an accredited institution (recognized by the UAE ministry of higher education)

Q- When is the last date for admission?

The last date for admission is toward the second week for the fall semester, however only limited number of learners is admitted each year and this is why to guarantee your sit we recommend that you apply early.

Q- How long is the program of study?

The MSc will take an average 2 years of study.

The BA will take an average of 4 years. In the case where summer courses are offered this period may further be reduced.

Q- How many courses will I take per semester (Mini/Max)?

  1. The minimum load for a BA learner is 9 credits and the maximum is 18 credits.
  2. The minimum load for an MSc learner is 6 credits and maximum is 12 credits.

Q- How many weeks is the semester?

16 weeks for all academic programs

The tuition for each semester depends upon the number of credit hours taken by the learner.

Q- How is the payment done?

The payments are made at the beginning of each semester upon registration and depend on the number of credit hours taken by the learner.

Q- How can the payment be issued?

The following methods of payment can be used at the University

  • Bank Draft
  • Direct transfer to e-TQM College account (National Bank of Dubai - A/C Number: 0151090888), the learner’s name and ID number must be noted on the transfer.
  • Checks, Learner must write their names and IDs at the back of the check (A charge of 200 DHS is added if the check is returned).
  • Cash in UAE Dirham only.

Q- Are installments available at the University

Yes, the University has easy installment procedures, where learners can pay their fees in 3 phases (phase I at time of registration, phase 2 is towards mid of the semester and phase III is prior to the finals) taken that post-dated checks are submitted to the Finance Department at the University at the time of registration.

Q- Do I need computer skills to be admitted to any of the programs offered?

Although it is not part of the formal admission requirements, Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University highly recommends that all learners (and specifically those at the graduate level) to have sound knowledge and expertise in using computers and internet.

Q- What are the potential challenges I may face in e-learning?

e-learning requires commitment and dedication from the side of learners. Some people come to e-learning with the impression that it is easier than conventional learning. This is by all means not the case. E-learning requires high levels of intrinsic motivation, well articulated goals, perseverance, and persistence. Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University has well designed set of academic and non academic services that will help learners to overcome the challenges of e-learning.

Q- Does the University require from learners specific hard or soft wares?

The University does not require specific software or equipments. However, it is recommended that learners have computers with good quality web camera, microphones, and high speed internet connection (preferably 512 and above). The specifications of the computer and other required equipments will be given to learners during the technical training sessions which all newly admitted learners ought to attend.

Q- Are there any technology requirements for taking the programs?

All you require is a computer with a web camera and microphone and a high speed internet connection (preferably 512 and above).

Q- Do you have Scholarship or discounts programs at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University?

Yes, Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University has various scholarship programs for outstanding graduates, for learners with financial needs and for members of the same family joining the University.Apart from the full scholarship program which will soon be announced, the other scholarship programs range from 10%-25% Employees of Some corporate are also entitled to 10% discount.

Q- Are the classes mixed(Male and female)?

Yes.

Q- Do you have transportation?

At the moment we do not have any transportation facilities, however if a sufficient number requiring this service is available, the University to provide it learners with this service.

Q- Do you have housing?

No.
